Miolo Merlot Terroir is a perfect blend of soil, climate and men’s influence. Certified with the Designation of Origin of Vale dos Vinhedos, this wine features unique qualities that only this terroir can provide. Based on these values, Miolo chose Merlot as its signature variety of red wines from Vale dos Vinhedos, where the best conditions to produce a high-quality Merlot are found.

SIGNATURE RED GRAPE VARIETY

This wine is produced with the best vintages of carefully handpicked Merlot grapes from several vineyards owned by the Miolo family in Vale dos Vinhedos. The aging process occurs in French oak barrels for 12 months, resulting in an excellent well-balanced and structured red wine. It has been awarded the world’s best Merlot in London.

Intense ruby red with violet shades.
Smell

A significant varietal character with a high aromatic intensity and an excellent harmony between cherry and hints of oak, caramel, cocoa, coffee and vanilla.
Taste

Structured with elegant and velvety tannins, this is a full-bodied wine with a great balance between smell and taste.
Service

Best served at 16 to 18 ºC.

Pairing

Perfect with rich-textured dishes with intense and complex aromas, such as roast duck with tamarind sauce, mushroom risotto and farfalle with gorgonzola sauce. By contrast, because of its softness, it also goes well with bitter and acidic dishes, such as chicken with polenta, ostrich meat with mustard sauce and seafood stew. Hard cheeses are great choices, including Parmesan, Pecorino and Grana Padano.
