The Vineyard Valley (Vale dos Vinhedos) is located in the Southern geographic macro-region of Brazil, on the upper hillside of the Northeast region of the State of Rio Grande do Sul. Located at a latitude of 29o South, this region represents the vitiviniculture introduced by the Italian settlers, with more than one century of winegrowing tradition. It is situated at median altitudes, between 450 and 650 meters, and the viticulture usually extends to the gentle slopes of the mountain valleys.

A mild climate, as found in most of the viticulture worldwide, with pleasant summers, however, it is humid, making it different from the rest of the world and giving its grapes a unique regional characteristic.
